Agnes H Design was established in 2013 in County Wexford, Ireland by Agnes Holohan. Her personal collection of linen and lace inherited from her mother was her inspiration for the business. Ever since, all her beautiful linens are personally designed and handmade.
Having qualified as an interior designer with an Honours Diploma from the Dublin Institute of Design, Agnes worked in interior design for many years. It was a natural progression for her to direct her design skills towards her passion for fabrics, linen and lace.
The result is a range of beautifully designed and embroidered Irish linen – tablecloths, table runners, placemats, napkins, pillow cases and bags. Collections include The Heritage Collection, The Contemporary Collection and The French Linen Collection.
She believes that good design is timeless, elegant and should last for years. Her collections are exactly that, imbued with a subtle contemporary palette.
Having always had a love of fabrics, especially linen, she is now combining this love with her flair for design and sense of style.
A Note from Agnes
For many years, I wanted to produce a handmade product. To rekindle in a small way, the great tradition we have in Ireland for producing handmade products.
I started collecting linen and lace when my mother, who was a very talented cook, passed on to me her beautiful linen tablecloths. I then began browsing in practically every second hand shop in the country to find more treasures!
I too love to cook, though not as well as my mother! I also love to set a nice table for friends and family. In fact, I sometimes spend more time setting the table than cooking the food! I always think that a beautifully presented table will make your guests feel more special that the food you serve! Or as we used to do when our children were little – dress the table, cook something nice, light the candles and have a lovely night in!
It seemed a natural progression for me to start creating my own table linens and the business grew from there. I now have a great support team working with me who are as passionate about creating exquisite linen products as I am.
